Claw Conditions for Heavy Cycles in Weighted Graphs

چکیده
A graph is called a weighted graph when each edge e is assigned a nonnegative number w(e), called the weight of e. For a vertex v of a weighted graph, d(v) is the sum of the weights of the edges incident with v. For a subgraph H of a weighted graph G, the weight of H is the sum of the weights of the edges belonging to H . In this paper, we give a new sufficient condition for a weighted graph to have a heavy cycle. A 2-connected weighted graph G contains either a Hamilton cycle or a cycle of weight at least c, ifG satisfies the following conditions: In every induced claw or induced modified claw F of G, (1) max{d(x), d(y)} ≥ c/2 for each non-adjacent pair of vertices x and y in F , and (2) all edges of F have the same weight.

Heavy Cycles in 2-Connected Weighted Graphs with Large Weighted Degree Sums
In this paper, we prove that a 2-connected weighted graph G contains either a Hamilton cycle or a cycle of weight at least 2m/3 if it satisfies the following conditions: (1) ∑3 i=1 d (vi) ≥ m, where v1, v2 and v3 are three pairwise nonadjacent vertices of G, and two of them are nonadjacent vertices of an induced claw or an induced modified claw; (2) In each induced claw and each induced modifie...
متن کاملMinimum degree and disjoint cycles in generalized claw-free graphs
For s ≥ 3 a graph is K1,s-free if it does not contain an induced subgraph isomorphic to K1,s. Cycles in K1,3-free graphs, called clawfree graphs, have beenwell studied. In this paper we extend results on disjoint cycles in claw-free graphs satisfying certain minimum degree conditions to K1,s-free graphs, normally called generalized claw-free graphs. In particular, we prove that if G is K1,s-fre...
متن کاملOn weighted efficient total domination
An efficiently total dominating set of a graph G is a subset of its vertices such that each vertex of G is adjacent to exactly one vertex of the subset. If there is such a subset, then G is an efficiently total dominable graph (G is etd). In this paper, we prove NP-completeness of the etd decision problem on the class of planar bipartite graphs of maximum degree 3. Furthermore, we give an effic...
متن کاملOn cycles in intersection graphs of rings
Let $R$ be a commutative ring with non-zero identity. We describe all $C_3$- and $C_4$-free intersection graph of non-trivial ideals of $R$ as well as $C_n$-free intersection graph when $R$ is a reduced ring. Also, we shall describe all complete, regular and $n$-claw-free intersection graphs. Finally, we shall prove that almost all Artin rings $R$ have Hamiltonian intersection graphs. ...
